Glenn College DC Programs Update
The John Glenn College of Public Affairs offers two DC internship programs for students, allowing them to live and intern in Washington, DC. The Washington Academic Internship Program (WAIP) brings undergrads to DC for a semester experience, and the MPA-DC program allows MPA students the chance to spend their second year in Washington in a field placement while they complete their graduate degree.
Due to COVID-19, WAIP has been moved to a virtual format for fall semester. Alumni volunteers are still needed to mentor, conduct virtual networking coffees and speak to the students. If interested in volunteering with WAIP this fall, please complete this short survey.
The MPA-DC program will move forward as planned, though students may conduct internships virtually for the first semester. The Glenn College is still seeking paid placements for a few of the MPA-DC fellows– these are graduate students in their second year of their MPA, and they can work Monday – Thursday, up to 32 hours/week. Their interests vary, but policy interests include: food/agriculture, environment, energy and international affairs. If you’d like to consider hosting a graduate student, please contact Katy Hogan: hogan.124@osu.edu.

RENEW OR JOIN OSUDC
Beginning on January 1, 2020, the OSUDC membership year now runs on the calendar year from January 1 – December 31. For $25, you are a member of OSUDC; for $75+, you are a member of OSUDC and a sustaining member of OSUAA, which makes you eligible for OSUAA benefits such as football tickets. Membership dues are tax deductible contributions to our OSUAA current use fund that makes programming available to area alumni. Dues can be paid at one time, or you can set up recurring payments.
We offer two ways to become a member:
Option 1) Yearly membership to Alumni Club of Washington, D.C. | Join now
If you simply want to join the Alumni Club of Washington, D.C. you can do so for a modest donation of $25 per year. This option is open to both Ohio State alumni and Ohio State fans.
Option 2) Yearly sustaining membership to OSUAA + Alumni Club of Washington, D.C. | Join now
Becoming a sustaining member of The Ohio State University Alumni Association requires a yearly donation of $75 (which makes alumni eligible for football tickets and other great benefits). By allocating a yearly donation of $75 or more to the Alumni Club of Washington, D.C., you will get access to OSUAA benefits and Alumni Club of Washington, D.C. incentives. If you have any questions, please contact our membership chair, Alex Temple, at membership@osudc.org, or our treasurer, Melissa Harto, at treasurer@osudc.org.
