Buckeye Game Day 2020 Update

In June 2020, OSUDC voted to not host in-person Game Day events this year.

While OSUDC is not hosting official game watch parties this season, all of our OSUDC Partner Bars will be featuring the Buckeyes games all season starting October 24 with sound on. If you are in the neighborhood, please consider supporting these local businesses by ordering carry-out or delivery. Don’t miss the great special offers for Buckeye fans! You can find detailed information on all six of our partner bars throughout the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area on our Buckeye Game Day page.

Should Ohio State fans choose to attend one of our bars in person to watch Buckeye football, please note the COVID protocols in place at our respective bars, listed on our Buckeye Game Day page.

Help send DC-area students to Ohio State!

Our Buckeye Game Day raffles are one of our biggest scholarship fundraisers every year. In lieu of in-person Game Day events, we have a Football Squares fundraiser for every 2020 Buckeye football game! Winners receive a $50 gift card. For the Nebraska game on Saturday, October 24, enter the game and choose your squares here. Payment must be submitted to OSUDC within 1 hour of selecting your squares. Please click here for the complete rules and information for our 2020 scholarship fundraiser.

⭕️-🙌! SHOW YOUR LEGENDARY BUCKEYE PRIDE AT OHIO STATE HOME GAMES THIS YEAR.

What does it Really Mean to have a Diverse, Equitable and Inclusive Workplace?

Join the Lhota Office of Alumni Career Management and a panel of DE&I experts to discuss what it means to create an inclusive and equitable workplace.

Many organizations are beginning to evaluate their own diversity, equity and inclusion strategies based on the recent rise in racial tensions in our world to further assess how they are helping to reduce or eliminate racial inequality and injustice in the workplace. Additionally, organizations are reviewing their hiring practices and upward mobility opportunities to create a more equitable and inclusive workforce. Join a conversation with DE&I experts who will provide further insights and knowledge from their own personal and professional experiences. They will share how organizations can effectively provide opportunities where ALL employees voices are heard equally, and how organizations can help create a work culture where employees can be their authentic self and feel a sense of belonging.

The Legal Meaning of “Sex”: Sexual Orientation, Transgender Issues, and Sexual Harassment

The U-M Club of Washington, DC invites you to join them for a conversation with Professor Catharine A. MacKinnon – recipient of the Association of American Law Schools’ Ruth Bader Ginsburg Lifetime Achievement Award and one of our greatest legal scholars – on the meaning of “sex” as a matter of U.S. law, focusing on sexual orientation, transgender issues, and sexual harassment.

As pointed out recently in the New York Times, “in 1986, the Supreme Court recognized sexual harassment as a form of sex discrimination. Sexual harassment had not entered the lexicon until 1979, when a law professor, Catharine MacKinnon, published a pathbreaking book, ‘Sexual Harassment of Working Women.’ ” This summer’s Supreme Court decision holding that discrimination against the LGBTQ+ community on the basis of sex is illegal stems directly from the work that Professor MacKinnon, the Elizabeth A. Long Professor of Law at the University of Michigan Law School, has done her entire life – while teaching, practicing law, or through lifelong activism.

Professor MacKinnon’s recent book is “Butterfly Politics”, a collection of the breakthrough moments in which her iconic ideas first saw the light of day, demonstrating to one review that “MacKinnon is a 21st-century thinker, encouraging multidimensional political thinking, precise engagement, principled creativity, imagination, instinct and adaptability.”

Professor MacKinnon will be joined by Marc Spindelman, the Isadore and Ida Topper Professor of Law at Ohio State’s Moritz College of Law. Marc was one of Professor MacKinnon’s students at the University of Michigan Law School. Both Professor MacKinnon and Professor Spindelman are among the country’s leading experts on civil rights and civil liberties; law and sexuality; and lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender rights.
