OSUDC Call for Volunteers 4/16/2021
Apr 16, 2021April 16, 2021
Volunteer Fairfax’s Emergency Response Program has been asked to recruit and manage volunteers in support of Inova’s Stonebridge Vaccine Clinic in Alexandria, serving Fairfax County residents. This is through Volunteer Fairfax’s partnership with Fairfax County’s Office of Emergency Management’s Emergency Operation Center, activated during declared emergencies, such as now. A large number of volunteers is required to support this significant vaccination effort for the coming weeks. The Inova Stonebridge Vaccine Clinic vaccinates approximately 6,000 patients per day. This necessitates heavy volunteer support and coordination. As such, we are sharing this need with you. All volunteers must be 18 or older and register through the County website and go through the required Fairfax County background check and fingerprinting process, at no cost to the volunteer. (Important: Outside background checks are not applicable. The only transferable external background checks are ones conducted by Pets on Wheels, Police, Sheriff and Fire and Rescue Departments). If you have an active Fairfax County Volunteer Background Check, please let us know. After the background check is complete, eligible volunteers will be given another link to sign up for half day shifts of your choosing. You may serve more than one shift and they may be consecutive shifts. While flexibility is key to volunteers arriving for their shift any given day, duties range from parking lot direction, patient flow direction, patient welcoming, post vaccine monitoring, supply running, etc. The clinic is operating Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., now through the latter part of May. Additional information and directions are provided in the days prior to the upcoming volunteer shift. Thank you for considering serving others through this important opportunity. Please contact us with further questions you may have. Best regards, Kim Luckabaugh Program Manager 571-536-4755, direct P.S. Help us spread the word … if you know of others who may be able to help with this effort, please take a moment and pass this message along. |
