REMOTE EVENT: COVID-19 and the Stretching of the Social Safety Net

June 3, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Free

Non-profits and public services alike are struggling even more in the wake of COVID-19

COVID-19 has led to unprecedented mass unemployment and, in turn, a growing number of households struggling to make ends meet. Nonprofit organizations and public-sector support programs that address areas of food insecurity, housing instability, health and mental health services, transportation and much more are stretching limited resources even further to meet the rapid rise in need. Please join us for a panel conversation featuring key community leaders and researchers from Ohio State’s College of Social Work as they share about our community’s response to helping the most vulnerable in the midst of this public health crisis. They will share lessons we are learning and recommendations for collectively strengthening the “social safety net” to foster more resilient and equitable communities going forward.
